CASANOVA
TO OPEN L.A. ITALO FEST
"GOODBYE CASANOVA" the debut feature from veteran film storyboard
illustrator MAURO BORRELLI, will open the second annual Los Angeles
Italian film Awards on April 25 at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood.
Borrelli
who wrote and directed the fantasy/romance, provided conceptuaql illustrations
and storyboards for Tim Burton's "Sleepy Hollow", Jan De
Bont's "The Haunting," Bernardo Bertolucci's "Little
Buddha" and Terry Gilliam's "The adventures of Baron Munchausen,"
among others.
Set in
a modern-day neighborhood bookstore, "CASANOVA" stars Yasmine
Bleeth and Flea, along with Giancarlo Scandiuzzi (Killing Zoe) in
the title role as the ghost of the legendary lover who lives in a
17th century children's pop-up book.
"This
film appeals to wide audiences of young and old alike as a fairy tale
that everyone will enjoy," said Borrelli. "It is exquisitely
and lavishly produced so that everyone can appreciate why Casanova
was the master of love and why he's so inspirational."
